My Dear Sweet Family

Uncle Peter told me a funny story about my adorable cousin Janell, aka The Frumpster! However before I tell the story I have to give some background information.

My dad (Bill), Uncle Harold, and Uncle Peter always tell us they are our favorite uncles. Often have I heard these words, "Hi this is your favorite Uncle so and so."

One time years and years ago, Uncle Peter, who is in fact my favorite Uncle Peter called Harold's home. Janell answered and Uncle Peter said, "Hi, this is your favorite Uncle."

Miss Quick Wit aka Janell, answered, "This does not sound like Uncle Bill!" Uncle Peter stills laughs out loud about this one!

I guess laughing is a family trait!

Pierce, who are you?

A week or so ago, Pierce came up to me with a pensive look on his face and asked...

"Mom, if someone is pregnant and that baby dies before it is born, will the baby go to another family?" I paused, wondering how this thought came into the head of a 10 year old boy.

In response I said, "Some may go to another family and some probably have to be patient until that particular family will get another chance to get them. I lost a baby and I am pretty sure that baby went to another home." In fact during a blessing I received at the time I was losing this baby, the holy ghost whispered to me this child was going to another home.

That baby I lost would be almost 2 years old right now. In my heart she was a girl but I was not pregnant with her long enough to know for sure. I hope someday to meet her/him.

5 is not always so funny!

As you may know if you have read other posts of mine, we were camping in the Grand Canyon on the North Rim a few weeks ago with my sister. While there my little Ross says to my sister...

"Auntie M I could tell that was you because of your BIG behind!" She had been bending over at the time.
OH MY! How do I ever civilize these creatures we call boys. The real challenge is to teach them what not to say to the female genders???

I am SOOOOOOO sorry Mechelle and your behind is not big but Ross's will be once I am done with him (KIDDING, KIDDING, KIDDING)!

My mom says that the job of a parent is to take these little barbaric children and civilize them! How true this is and how often I think of her words! There are moments I wonder if there is any hope!

A Ross moment

On our camping trip Ross and Uncle Jim were playing a guessing game. You each pick a card with a face on it. You then ask question until you figure out which person the other player has.

Ross handed Uncle Jim his ,but first he peeked at it not so discreetly. Ross asked, "Does your guy have a mustache?"

Uncle Jim said, "No."

Ross said, "Yes it does."

Jim said, "No, I drew another card."

Ross said, "What did you go and do that for?"

Why I have been a loser blogger this week!

My sister, her family, and my family met at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for our annual 4TH of July camping trip. We had the time of our lives!

On our way home we took a bit of a detour and checked out Bryce Canyon. It is breath taking as well and we look forward to a weekend trip to really see this National Park.
I am currently un-burying my house from camping paraphernalia. I will try to blog more soon.
