The writing is on the wall!!

I am truly fearful for the teenage years with Ross. Starting at two he was a shameless flirt with pretty teenage girls. The not so cute girls he rudely ignored completely, even if they tried to engage him. I try to teach him this is unacceptable but so far it has not sunk in.

One day driving a way from pre-school this year, my cousin Karen rolled down her window and yelled, "Julie, the girls are all fighting over who is going to marry Ross." Oh my, what is this boy about? My 12 and 10 year old will not even talk to girls and avoid them like the plague, politely of course.

Yesterday as I was driving, Ross yells, "Mom go 60 million mph!" I tried to explain about speed limits but he continued to insist that I need to drive at top speed.

The final straw was yesterday when we were passing a road closed sign that was put in the middle of the road. Ross yelled, "Mom, HIT THE SIGN!" I calmly replied, "Ross, I don't want to dent and scratch the car." Ross replied to me, "No mom hit the SIGN."

Heaven help me, I am in trouble!!!

What am I in for!!!!!

Why haven't I ever been to your blog before?! I love it. I hail from Frumpy's site.

It sounds like you love the Islands as much as I love Southern Utah. I've never been to an island before but I can tell I'd love it!

Glad I found your blog. Hope you don't mind if I visit every once in a while!

Frump- you are brilliant! I will not only need a system on my house but our cars as well. I might even consider a cloaking device on him!

Redhoodoos-Welcome to one and all, especially if you are affiliated with the frump!!! I LOVE her, and not just because she is my cousin!

Thank you for such a compliment on my blog! WOW, I need more friends like you:)

I am intrigued! If you will, please tell me of Southern Utah. Where to go, what to do, what to see? I LOVE the ocean but would love to fall in love with S. Utah. It is a lot cheaper and easier to get there!

I'm not even sure where to begin with Southern Utah! ;)

Utah has five National Parks - my favorites are Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. If you ever go down there definitely see those two. Zion is about 4 hours from Salt Lake.

It's a nice weekend getaway to recharge. There are a ton of hiking trails. At Zions there is a hike called Angels Landing that is amazing at the top! It's probably not the best hike for someone afraid of heights because there are some steep dropoffs and you actually have to hold on to some chains in some areas. My husband won't do it - but 3 of my 4 kids did.

There's another hike at Zions that I think you might like - it's called the Narrows. Lots of water! Here's a link.. http://www.terragalleria.com/parks/np.zion.4.html

Anyway - if you ever decide to go, I can give you directions and more info.

What islands have you been to? Have you lived near the ocean?

Not sure how I would do with the heights but it all sounds amazing. We are camping in the Grand Canyon this summer and we wanted to check out a few of the parks. Thanks for the advice and link we will have a ball exploring.

I have only been to Cancun (and surrounding area), Puerto Penasco, Mexico, St Thomas and St John. If you are a snorkeler and/or scuba diver St John and Cancun are the best.

My favorite was St John but I did not go to the right spots in Cancun. I guess I will have to go back, bummer!

With the exception of my mission I have never lived near the ocean but would move in a heart beat!

Speaking of missions, how does your son like Russia? Wow, what an incredible experience for him. How long has he been gone? How are you holding up? I visit and teach a gal who has a son on a mission. I never realized how hard it is to send a son on a mission.

He's only been there for about a month - so it's still a culture shock for him. His letters don't reveal too much about how he's coping with the changes - but we gather he is really enjoying himself. He really likes his companion - so I'm sure that helps a ton.

Yes! Companions are everything!

All those other girls can go jump in the lake. Ross is going to come live with his fat old Auntie M and take care of me for the rest of his life. We worked it all out the last time he was here.

To test the condition of my heart he will take me for a drive around town! m

Just think you could give up exercising altogether. All you would have to do is have Ross drive you around each day and your heart would get all the work out it would need.

Today he only wanted to go only 70 mph in town. I asked him why and he said it would be FUN!!!

You are so not fat and I will wash your mouth out with soap the next I see you if you do not stop writing that. However I will wait until dad is around so he can "rescue" you!
